一百年前的1924年1月27日，以林風(fēng)眠、林文錚、吳大羽等為代表的中國(guó)留法藝術(shù)家團(tuán)體在巴黎創(chuàng)立“霍普斯會(huì)”（后改稱“海外藝術(shù)運(yùn)動(dòng)社”），并籌辦同年5月在法國(guó)斯特拉斯堡萊茵宮舉辦的“中國(guó)古代與現(xiàn)代美術(shù)展覽會(huì)”。在展覽的征稿函中寫(xiě)道：“中國(guó)古代之美術(shù)，急待整理；東西兩洋之美術(shù)思想，急待調(diào)和與研究；中國(guó)未來(lái)之新藝術(shù)，尤待創(chuàng)造。”這一學(xué)術(shù)初心，在1928年成為蔡元培先生與林風(fēng)眠先生創(chuàng)建國(guó)立藝術(shù)院（中國(guó)美術(shù)學(xué)院前身）的學(xué)術(shù)主張：“介紹西洋藝術(shù)，整理中國(guó)藝術(shù)，調(diào)和東西藝術(shù)，創(chuàng)造時(shí)代藝術(shù)”。

趙無(wú)極是享譽(yù)世界的法籍華裔畫(huà)家，也是中國(guó)美術(shù)學(xué)院的杰出校友。師承林風(fēng)眠、吳大羽等留法先師，他熔鑄古今、匯通中西的藝術(shù)無(wú)疑受到國(guó)美學(xué)脈的深厚滋養(yǎng)。

2024年1月27日，是中法建交60周年紀(jì)念日。“大道無(wú)極——趙無(wú)極百年回顧特展”第三次學(xué)術(shù)研討會(huì)：“兩個(gè)傳統(tǒng)、兩個(gè)世紀(jì)——世界藝術(shù)史中的趙無(wú)極”將在中國(guó)美術(shù)學(xué)院舉辦。研討會(huì)邀請(qǐng)中國(guó)、法國(guó)等國(guó)內(nèi)外專家學(xué)者，從藝術(shù)史、藝術(shù)世界、文化交流、文明互鑒等不同視角，共同探討趙無(wú)極的藝術(shù)在世界藝術(shù)史中的獨(dú)特意義，呈現(xiàn)趙無(wú)極在東西文明互鑒、中法文化交流中的獨(dú)特影響。
